About

Bell’s palsy is the most common cause of acute unilateral facial paralysis, yet it remains a diagnosis of exclusion with limited direct management options. This one-hour course equips chiropractors with the clinical knowledge needed to confidently recognize Bell’s palsy, differentiate it from more serious neurologic conditions such as stroke and Ramsay Hunt syndrome, understand the relevant cranial nerve anatomy, and participate appropriately in interdisciplinary care. Through a case-based approach, attendees will review red flags, examination strategies, current evidence for medical and adjunctive interventions, prognosis, and the chiropractor’s role in patient education, reassurance, and referral. Emphasis is placed on setting realistic expectations, identifying complications, and optimizing patient communication during a high-anxiety clinical presentation.
